The AI Productivity King
The Prompt Economy
Ayaan Mehra ka din prompt se start hota tha, prompt pe khatam hota tha.
Subah uthte hi alarm snooze karne se pehle woh phone uthata, aur pehla kaam hota—ChatGPT open.
“Write a professional LinkedIn bio for an MBA final-year student, part-time content writer, with leadership skills and growth mindset.”
Phir cup of chai. Phir usi chai ke saath dusra prompt.
“Draft a polite apology text to a classmate for replying late, but make it warm and slightly flirty.”
Ayaan screen dekh ke muskuraata. “Bhai, life sorted.”
Uske room ki wall par MBA ka timetable chipka tha, jisme multiple deadlines, viva dates, aur placement prep reminders the. Un sab ke beech ek chhota sa sticky note bhi tha:
Do not overthink. Outsource.
Ye note usne khud likha tha, aur ispe woh genuinely proud tha.
Kabir, uska close friend, usse “AI productivity king” bolta tha. Kabir ka khud ka Telegram channel tha jahan woh naye tools, prompts, aur “100x your output” type hacks share karta rehta.
Ek raat hostel terrace pe Kabir ne Ayaan ko laptop screen pe jhankte hue dekha.
“Bro, kya kar raha hai?”
“Assignment.”
“Kis subject ka?”
“Consumer Behaviour.”
Kabir ne seat khinch ke baithte hue bola, “Aur prompt?”
Ayaan bina eyes up kiye bola, “Already running.”
Kabir ne dramatic smile di. “Maine bola tha na, AI is not a tool. AI is a lifestyle.”
Ayaan ne ek satisfied nod diya. Uske liye AI sirf tool nahi tha—woh ek secret weapon tha. Aisa weapon jo usse sabse smart, sabse polished, sabse effortless genius bana deta tha. College me log mehnat karte, Ayaan output dikhata.
Aur honestly, output kaafi impressive tha.
Assignment ho ya LinkedIn post, presentation ho ya apology text—sab smooth. Sab crisp. Sab “human but better.”
Bas ek problem thi.
Ayaan ki life me jo bhi polished tha, woh thoda fake lagne laga tha. Lekin uss waqt usse fark nahi padta tha, kyunki fake polish bhi attention le raha tha. Aur attention, uske hisaab se, half the battle thi.
Sana Qureshi ne bhi uski attention notice karni shuru kar di thi.
The Perfect Draft
Sana, graphics/UI intern thi. Calm, sharp, aur aise texts karti jaise har line ke piche ek chhota sa eyebrow raise chhupa ho.
Ayaan aur Sana ki chats pehle campus group projects ke through start hui thi. Phir kabhi assignment discussion, kabhi placement prep, kabhi random meme exchange. Ayaan ne notice kiya tha ki Sana ka reply late aata tha, par jab aata tha, seedha point pe hota tha.
No extra drama. No unnecessary emojis. Bas clean, dry, and slightly dangerous.
Ayaan ko uska ye style acha lagta tha. Bahut acha.
Problem ye thi ki Ayaan apni side se bhi “best version” bhejna chahta tha. Har message ko perfect banane ke liye woh AI ka use karta. Kabhi prompt hota:
“Reply to this text in a witty, confident, slightly charming way, not too desperate.”
Kabhi:
“Make this message sound casual but intelligent.”
Kabhi:
“Turn this into a sweet but non-cringe reply.”
Kabir ne ek baar uske shoulder pe dekh ke bola tha, “Bro, tu text kar raha hai ya script write kar raha hai?”
Ayaan ne bina guilt ke kaha, “Same thing, bas delivery different hai.”
Kabir ne sir hilaaya. “Honestly, dangerous confidence.”
Sana ko messages pasand aate the—par usko kuch na kuch off lagta tha. Words smart the, timing perfect thi, tone balanced tha. Lekin kabhi-kabhi aisa lagta jaise message Ayaan ne nahi, kisi polished version ne likha ho.
Jaise koi auto-generated charm.
Ek din Sana ne likha:
Sana: “Tum har reply me itne prepared kaise ho? Real life me bhi itne hi composed ho ya yeh sirf chat persona hai?”
Ayaan ne do minute socha. Phir prompt dala.
“Reply to a girl teasing me about being too composed. Make it playful and self-aware.”
Response aaya:
“Maybe I’m just naturally this good. Ya phir I save my chaos for people who deserve it.”
Ayaan ne send kiya.
Sana ne message dekha aur 30 seconds tak typing nahi ki. Then:
Sana: “Hmm. Very prompt-like.”
Ayaan ne screen ko stare kiya. Us line me ek halka sa smile tha, but uske neeche ek warning bhi.
Usne us warning ko ignore kiya.
The Assignment Fix
Consumer Behaviour assignment ka deadline near tha. Class me sab apne apne slides aur references ke saath stress me the. Ayaan relaxed tha.
Kyuki uske paas Kabir tha. Aur prompts.
Kabir uske room me aaya, laptop khola, aur bola, “Let’s make this top-tier.”
Ayaan ne copy-paste kiya: topic, rubric, professor ke keywords, class notes ke screenshots. Phir prompt aaya:
“Write a high-quality MBA assignment on consumer decision-making, with academic tone, examples, and strong conclusion. Make it sound original.”
Kabir ne taali bajayi. “Bro, this is elite.”
Twenty minutes later, draft ready tha. Clean headings. Strong flow. Nice jargon. One-liners that sounded like they belonged in a seminar room.
Ayaan ne bas ek do lines edit ki, formatting theek ki, aur submit kar diya.
Next day class me professor ne bola, “This submission is well-structured. Very mature argumentation.”
Ayaan ke chest me pride ka balloon phool gaya.
Aur phir Sana ne casual tone me bola, “Good work.”
Ayaan smiled. “Thanks.”
Sana ne uski file ka printed copy uthaya, do pages flip kiye, aur bola, “Words strong hain. But yeh tumhari voice nahi lag rahi.”
Ayaan ka smile thoda freeze hua. “Matlab?”
“Matlab,” Sana said, “sab kuch technically correct hai. But it reads like someone trying very hard to sound smart. Soul missing hai.”
Kabir, jo side me baitha tha, cough kar ke hasi chhupa gaya.
Ayaan ne defensive hoke bola, “Assignment hai, soul ka kya kaam?”
Sana ne shrug kiya. “Fair. Par phir bhi, jab real cheez hoti hai na, usme thoda mess hota hai. Yeh too neat lag raha hai.”
Ayaan ne us moment ko joke me uda diya. “Tum log creative people hamesha mess worship karte ho.”
Sana ne bas ek look diya. The kind of look jo argue nahi karta—sirf observe karta hai.
